A Letter From the President
The International Cinderella Scholarship Program, founded in 1976, has grown into the largest and most prestigious scholarship oriented pageant system of its kind in the world. Throughout its 30 year history Cinderella has championed the need and value of higher education for women and has promoted that goal by awarding millions of dollars in cash college scholarship to young women from the United States and a host of foreign countries. The pageant is divided into 5 major age categories: Cinderella Tot (ages 3-6); Cinderella Miniature Miss (ages 7-9); Cinderella Miss (ages 10-12); Cinderella Teen (ages 13-17) and the Cinderella Woman Division (ages 18-26, married or single). Also included on the International level of competition is the Cinderella Baby Divisions (ages 0-2). Participants compete in Interview, Partywear/Formalwear Modeling, Casualwear Modeling, Photogenic, and Talent (or Tot On Stage Interview for our 3-6 age group.) Cinderella is based on a 3 tiered system of competitions. Participants start out on the Local level and based on their performance can advance to the State level of competition (or national level for foreign countries) and then proceed to the final level of competition, the International Pageant. In Cinderella we are searching for a natural, unaffected young lady to represent our program. She should be charming and personable; well groomed and poised; self-confident; and above all have the character, humility and inner beauty that sets her apart as a leader. A Cinderella winner is at ease in a crowd and is respectful of those around her. Her manners, dress and behavior are age appropriate. It is important to note that the concept of "beauty" in Cinderella is defined as a person's "inner beauty" and strength of character combined with her personal achievements in at least one area of the performing arts as well as her ability to communicate effectively with others . Cinderella does not place emphasis on physical beauty, but rather seeks to promote the beautiful inner person that should reside in everyone. Perhaps the most visually impressive achievement of the Cinderella Program is its spectacular International Pageant which is held each summer at the end of July. Cinderella is not satisfied with simply holding its International competition in a hotel ballroom as so many other pageants are content in doing. At Cinderella only the best will do! We use Premium Class Hotels to house our participants and their guests and we hold our events in major civic theaters or arenas. As said by our state directors, “The Cinderella International Finals just cannot be described in words. The spectacular sets, broadway style production, theme parties and professional entertainment is equalled by none. You just have to SEE it to believe it!” If you would like to learn more about our program, meet some of our dynamic young people and see what Cinderella has to offer both its participants and directors, please explore our site. Also be sure to stop by our message board and say hello. We welcome your comments and suggestions and hope that you will want to become a part of this amazing program for young women! All the best, Fred Vollman, President CINDERELLA SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM |
